Wrinkles can be found everywhere on our face and neck: on the forehead, on the nasolabial folds, they can be vertical and descend from the wings of the nose to the corner of the mouth, or they can be found around the eyes or mouth (crow's feet), or on the neck and décolleté (creases).
Wherever they occur, wrinkles are an inescapable process of cell aging. As skin ages, cells divide more slowly and the dermis (the network of elastin and collagen fibers responsible for skin elasticity) begins to thin. Depressions of varying depth are created on the skin's surface, and this is where wrinkles appear.
Well... Of course, we're not all equal when it comes to wrinkles, but our lifestyle and routine is a key element that we can often act on gently. There are many factors that trigger wrinkles.
The 6 factors that promote wrinkles and aging skin.
Although this process is inevitable, certain factors tend to accelerate it. Do you want to preserve your skin and delay aging as long as possible? A new routine is essential.
The effects of cigarette smoke
As we all know, cigarettes are anything but anti-wrinkle. The smoke from cigarettes oxidizes your skin, causing premature aging.
The result? Wrinkles that are often deep and pronounced.
"Love is like a cigarette", but above all it accelerates the appearance of wrinkles. We can't advise you enough to slow down the appearance of facial wrinkles, if not make them disappear.
Our skin type
The lighter and thinner it is, the more likely it is to leave marks and wrinkles. The hereditary factor comes into play, with our genetic heritage playing an essential role.
So adopt an excellent routine to limit the impact of this factor. Moisturize your skin, limit the use of aggressive products... you know the drill.
Sun exposure
It's our best friend, because it's good for morale, but it's also our worst enemy.
The sun is one of the main causes of wrinkles. Prolonged exposure to the sun leads to a reduction in collagen and premature aging of the skin.
Sun-reflective glass (car windows, bay windows) can also be considered sun exposure. Numerous studies show that 80% of the signs of aging are due to overexposure to the sun.
The solution is to protect yourself with a UV cream. You'll be able to continue enjoying the sun and, above all, its light, which is a real source of Vitamin D (90% of which comes from the sun).
Age
Yes... the older we get, the more our skin loses its elasticity. Collagen, keratin and elastin are less present and less active. As a result, skin becomes drier and less supple, leading to wilting and wrinkles.
Facial expressions
Repeated heavy use can accentuate the appearance of wrinkles.
Dry skin
Air-conditioning, wind, sun, poor daily moisturizing (pure water) and poor daily moisturizing (moisturizing and/or nourishing skin care) all result in poorly hydrated and nourished skin that dries out more quickly, and wrinkles appear more noticeably.
Simple solutions to combat the appearance of wrinkles
Some of the above factors are difficult to combat naturally or gently. However, it's often enough to readjust your lifestyle.
This starts with proper hydration, which means drinking plenty of water. It's also important to nourish and moisturize your skin from the outside by applying day creams and a night cream that will meet your skin's needs in depth.
A healthy lifestyle and the right diet are the keys to healthy skin.
My tips for fighting wrinkles on a daily basis
Today, I'd like to share with you my skincare recipes and good addresses for smoothing skin and getting rid of wrinkles.
Start with a good facial cleansing
It's essential for the quality of our skin. No cleanser can have an anti-wrinkle effect, but without gentle cleansing, it will be difficult for your skincare products, creams and treatments to penetrate and be effective.
Choose a cleanser suited to your skin type.
- If your skin is dry, the ideal cleanser should contain oils and mild surfactants.
- If your skin is combination or oily, vitamin C and a light, gentle peel will get your beauty routine off to a good start.
Yodi's powder cleansers contain no preservatives, but organic vegetable oils, natural vitamin C and hibiscus flower acids, which are less irritating than traditional fruit acids.
They will be great daily allies in your new anti-wrinkle routine.
If you wear a lot of make-up, especially on the eyes, don't hesitate to remove it beforehand with a natural organic oil. Almond, plum, hazelnut, argan or jojoba oils are all very good for your skin.
It is preferable to choose organic and cold-pressed varieties.
NB: Make sure they don't smell bad or strong, as a rancid smell means your oil is oxidized.
We recommend cleansing and removing make-up in the evening to let the skin breathe overnight. This is the best time for it to regenerate.
Facial care
After trying out so many creams, each with its own magical active ingredients, I felt the need for simplicity.
Today, the best combo for my over-50 skin is a 2-step routine:
- Pure vitamin C (a powerful antioxidant)
- A moisturizing, nourishing and protective treatment.
If, like me, you have reactive and sensitive skin, choose fragrance-free products containing organic active ingredients.
In winter, choose a product that does not contain UV filters. It's better to use a real sun product in summer or in the mountains, rather than one enriched with UV filters.
For Vitamin C, be careful which one you choose: vitamin C serums must contain at least 10% Vitamin C.
And don't forget organic natural oils: they're magical for skin that pulls. They provide our skin with essential fatty acids and antioxidants. Oils are the perfect complement to your moisturizing day care.
Facial gymnastics, an anti-wrinkle and anti-ageing ally
Our face is made up of 42 muscles, not all of which are activated and energized in the same way. We need to remould our face in the same way as we remould our body, but using gentle, effective and accessible methods to effectively combat wrinkles.
My favorite places to take care of my skin
Here are my 2 favorite cocooning addresses with fairy-fingered practitioners:
Emmanuelle Capus's mindful face massage, at La Mandarine Blanche :
Emmanuelle has perfected a facial massage and muscle-building technique that combines well-being, relaxation and, above all, the smoothing of facial features. A natural way to say bye-bye to wrinkles.
This massage should be performed regularly (every 5 to 6 weeks), as this is the time it takes for the skin to regenerate. It brings real results on forehead wrinkles, frown lines, lip wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, and redefines the facial contour.
Toning facial drainage with a top-class osteopath in Annecy :
Margaux Ducarouge, has established a new dermo-osteopathy protocol specifically adapted to facial problems and wrinkle smoothing. The aim is to boost all facial muscles.
A method of simple gestures to be repeated every day in the bathroom (Find her tips HERE) or to try out at her practice in Annecy. To find out more, watch the live Instagram between Margaux and Yodi founder Hélène Azancot.
Eliminate facial wrinkles and increase firmness with radio frequency
If you like gentle yet effective techniques, and are prepared to devote a regular budget and an hour of your time per month or every 3 months depending on the techniques and equipment, then radio frequency is a very good ally for making facial wrinkles disappear.
This technique involves treating the face for 45 minutes to 1 hour with a device that emits high-frequency electromagnetic waves, heating the dermis cells in the skin to reactivate and firm them by producing collagen.
The results are visible on the quality of the skin, and it's a real maintenance technique that helps firm the face, especially its contours, and smooth wrinkles. Start with a short course of treatment, then maintain once every 3 months.
I've been practicing this technique for several years now, and the benefits associated with facial massages are tangible. It's a good way of avoiding more radical measures such as facelifts or injections... for all those who, like me, prefer gentleness and natural methods!
Beware, however, of contraindications, and check with a doctor qualified to perform this type of dermoesthetic treatment.
Here are a few addresses in Paris:

- Dr Catherine de Goursac Paris 17th
- Dr Catherine Gaucher Paris 7th arrondissement
