Lymphatic drainage
Expert Lisa Ngyen @lesgrainesdelisanaturopath and Renata Franca practitioner, explains why lymphatic drainage is a good complement to swimming. Because while swimming is effective for heavy legs, water retention and cellulite, lymphatic drainage will help release fat, reduce bloating and give the skin a radiant glow.
Swimming and lymphatic drainage, the perfect duo.
"Our more sedentary lifestyles, lack of regular physical activity, a diet too rich in salt and sugar, and tight-fitting clothes all slow down our bodies' blood and lymph circulation, amplifying the phenomenon of heavy legs and water retention...
Manual lymphatic drainage stimulates the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system comprises both the lymphatic network (capillaries and lymphatic vessels), through which lymph circulates, and the lymph nodes located in the neck, armpits, groin and abdomen. This network runs parallel to the bloodstream.
While blood is propelled by the pumping activity of the heart, lymph circulates thanks to the structure of the lymphatic vessel walls, muscle contractions and body movements.
Swimming, for example, will stimulate the lower limbs, and the pressure exerted by the water on the skin will act as a gentle lymphatic "massage".
The role of the lymph is to collect and transport toxins and waste products from the blood.
The technique reduces edema, activates blood circulation and improves the lymphatic network.
The result is a slimmer, more sculpted body with a more accelerated metabolism and a real sense of well-being."
The infrared sauna
Infrared sauna expert and founder of BelleymeClara Haddou shares her tips for boosting muscle recovery, activating cardio for greater performance, eliminating toxins and relieving aches and pains associated with physical activity. That's it!
"Unlike a traditional sauna, which only heats the surrounding air, infrared radiation penetrates deep into the body, passing through the skin barrier and activating the metabolism from within. The heat is lower (around 55° vs. 75° to 95° for a traditional sauna), so you can enjoy longer sessions without the oppressive sensation of heat.
Thanks to this in-depth action, the infrared sauna activates the metabolism and cardiovascular system, helping to burn calories and combat cellulite. It also eliminates more toxins than a traditional sauna, acting as a real immunity booster. It promotes cell renewal, improving skin quality. It has an effect on muscle recovery, as muscles are freed of toxins and cells are stimulated. Finally, it helps combat the inflammation responsible for many ailments (skin problems, chronic pain...) and lowers cortisol (stress hormone) levels, while increasing endorphins to keep spirits high.
Ideally, you'd like to do one session a week to get long-term results, but from the very first session you'll feel the benefits and if you manage to stick to a frequency of 1 to 2 times a month that's already very good as it helps to maintain the benefits and have some regularity."

Hydrafacial
Because swimming puts a lot of strain on the skin, and chlorine dries it out, making it taut and red... we asked the Brand Director ofInnerskinBrand Director, Delphine Giblin, what she recommends in terms of moisturizing and protecting swimmers' skin.
She recommended the Hydrafacial treatment, to be performed once a month.
"It's a revolutionary hydradermabrasion treatment based on a unique, cutting-edge Vortex-fusion technology that easily dislodges and eliminates impurities while diffusing customized super serums into the heart of the epidermis. A 3-step treatment - cleanse+exfoliate, extract+hydrate, unify+protect - complemented by a targeted LED session to optimize the effects of the treatment.
The Hydrafacial treatment begins with a thorough cleansing. Light peeling (adjusted according to the needs and sensitivity of the skin) combined with gentle extraction significantly improves skin quality. Skin is clean, healthy and pores are tightened. Thanks to a serum containing hyaluronic acid, peptides and anti-oxidants, the skin is protected and deeply moisturized.
