Rencontre avec Laura Foulquier, créatrice de mode
Since the creation of Yodi, Hélène Azancot has enjoyed forging links with wellness experts who share the same values of transparency, cleanliness, naturalness and sustainability.
In order to share these exchanges with as many people as possible, she decided to organize events in the Yodi boutique at 27 avenue Victor Hugo in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, highlighting these inspiring individuals.
These experts come from different backgrounds: naturopath, author, designer, interior decorator... but what they have in common is their desire to make things evolve towards a healthier future.
Today, Hélène met Laura Foulquier.
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Laura, I'm the mother of three little boys, I live in Paris, and I'm the creator of the Lorafolk brand, which I created in 2011 with my husband Quentin.
Initially, lorafolk was a ready-to-wear line made from fabrics recovered from French fashion houses. A few years later, at the request of our customers, we launched a line of wedding dresses, custom-made in our workshop.
Today, we've decided to take a break from bridal to return to ready-to-wear, and also to create a line based on the Mediterranean art of living under the name of our Italian house: Casa Li Feruli.
How many years have you been designing fashion and lifestyle pieces?
It's been 12 years now!
Is it a childhood dream?
As a child, I was very attracted to creativity in general!
Textiles, plants, ceramics and jewelry. I was always making and repairing pieces from whatever I could find.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I find inspiration in everything that surrounds me. Nature, architecture, flea markets, music, travel, the people I observe.
Do you have a creative ritual?
Not really, no. It's very spontaneous and organic. When I have an idea, I need to express it on a sheet of paper or through the material directly.
But I need to be alone for that. I really appreciate solitude, even though I'm very sociable and well surrounded!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own business?
To listen to each other without overthinking and to trust each other... I find that overthinking paralyzes!
