The benefits of natural oils for your skin and hair

Nourishing, protective or softening, pure or incorporated into our skincare products, plant oils are a must in cosmetics! And that's thanks to their great affinity with our skin. A remarkable compatibility between the precious essential fatty acids they contain and our own sebum.

Les bienfaits des huiles naturelles sur la peau et les cheveux

What's more, unlike essential oils, they have no contraindications to use, and are even beneficial for pregnant women and babies. On the other hand, they can be mixed with a few drops of essential oils to influence or reinforce their effects.

Which natural oil for my face?

While some oils are highly effective for nourishing and repairing hair and even eyelashes and eyebrows, such as castor oil, others are more effective for combating skin aging and treating problem skin (eczema, psoriasis, wounds, burns, etc.).

Soothe your skin with sweet almond oil

Sweet almond oil has indispensable qualities for dry skin: nourishing, softening and soothing, it is even suitable for babies' skin. Although it doesn't replace a daily moisturizer, sweet almond oil can be used on the face. It is particularly recommended for dry to atopic skin, as it is rich in fatty acids and rebuilds the hydrolipidic film. Rich in zinc, it relieves eczema and psoriasis, and helps prevent bacterial infections caused by dry skin. The oil nourishes the affected area and soothes itching.

In addition to nourishing the skin, sweet almond oil prevents dehydration and improves elasticity. This makes it an invaluable ally for mature skin.

When added to sugar, it adds nourishing properties to a homemade scrub, gently removing dead cells from the face and body.

Nourished skin thanks to coconut oil and avocado oil

In the same style, coconut oil is also very nourishing. Comedogenic, it can tend to "suffocate" the skin. So it's best to apply it to small, targeted areas (especially if you want to use it on the face) to soften them without creating imperfections such as pimples or blackheads.

When it comes to nutrition, don't miss avocado oil either, one of the star vegetable oils in this field. And with good reason: it contains over 50% monounsaturated fatty acids. Regenerating, it is all the more effective at night, when it can help rebuild your damaged hydrolipidic film.

Rebalance your skin's pH with jojoba oil

Contrary to popular belief, oily skin and vegetable oils are not necessarily enemies. Before gently moisturizing, it's a good idea to rebalance the pH of your oily skin. To do this, there's nothing better than jojoba vegetable oil, a champion in this field.

By depositing a non-greasy film on the skin's surface, jojoba oil combats dehydration. It retains water in the cells and limits water loss. Non-comedogenic, it won't clog pores. In fact, oil is not synonymous with pimples and blackheads. It is one of the vegetable oils suitable for children and babies. Jojoba oil has a nourishing, protective, rebalancing and softening action. Its regenerating properties and the fact that it helps maintain firm skin make it an excellent anti-aging oil. In short, jojoba oil is excellent for all generations!

It is also suitable for dry skin. Its fatty acid content makes it extremely nourishing. A natural emollient, this waxy oil helps maintain supple, youthful skin.

No more oily skin with hazelnut oil

Hazelnut oil, rich in polyunsaturated acids, regulates sebum production while softening and repairing the skin. This oil is the perfect ally for oily skin. Rich in vitamin E, it helps fight acne, often responsible for the appearance of scars, blackheads and other redness. Non-comedogenic, hazelnut oil helps combat facial imperfections, pimples (especially acne pimples) and blackheads by regulating excess sebum and tightening pores.

Hazelnut oil contains powerful antioxidants and tannins, giving it astringent properties. It cleanses and tightens pores while eliminating bacteria. It helps to purify oily skin by regulating excess sebum.

Thanks to the phytosterols it contains, it is perfectly suited to acne-prone skin, on which it acts as a repairing and healing agent. It softens the skin and helps pimples, blackheads, scars and redness to disappear, as well as regulating the sebum that causes acne (known as sebo-regulating). A real gem.

Finally, it reduces fine lines thanks to the vitamin E it contains. It helps give your skin a smooth appearance, and ensures that your skin's moisture levels remain stable.

Regulate sebum production with grapeseed oil and sesame oil

While grapeseed oil is suitable for all skin types, it is particularly recommended for those with excess sebum. Sebo-regulating, it matifies the complexion and even helps problem skin, thanks to its cleansing qualities. Blackheads and pimples don't resist its application for long. It's also a gentle cleanser, so blackheads won't have a chance to lodge in your skin's pores.

Extremely rich in antioxidants, grapeseed oil is also recommended for mature skin, as it slows skin aging by fighting free radicals.

Organic virgin sesame oil is known for softening and regenerating the skin. This vegetable oil is perfectly suited to oily and acne-prone skin, as it is non-comedogenic and helps to erase scars caused by acne.

Fight skin aging with plum oil and safflower oil

Very rich in oleic acid, plum oil reinforces the skin's hydrolipidic film, while making dry, irritated skin softer. It deeply nourishes the skin, strengthening its cell membranes. Rich in vitamin E, it has antioxidant properties that neutralize free radicals, making it an excellent natural anti-aging treatment that successfully combats the first signs of aging.

Whether used pure or in cosmetics, this oil has what it takes to revitalize your skin! How to use it To counter wrinkles, massage a few drops into the desired areas every morning and evening.

What's more, Plum oil helps heal lesions by accelerating cell renewal. It reduces the appearance of marks and even stretch marks! Nourishing, it restores suppleness and softness to the skin, soothing the most fragile areas.

Non-comedogenic, Plum oil is ideal for all skin types.

Safflower oil is rich in antioxidants, helping to combat the signs of skin ageing and, thanks to vitamin K, acting favorably on skin redness. Highly nourishing, it is ideal for dry skin and combats the dryness of dehydrated skin.

Caring for sensitive skin with hemp oil

Hemp oil, rich in vitamin E, omega-6 and omega-3, has an antioxidant and regenerating action on the skin. It is particularly suitable for sensitive skin. It improves the complexion, reduces redness... Hemp oil's effects on dry skin are also very interesting. It provides the epidermis with a high level of nutrients and moisture.

Find the natural oil for your hair

Nutrition, suppleness, shine... Here are our top oils to care for your hair.

Nourish and strengthen hair with coconut oil

Rich in vitamin E, vitamin K and iron, coconut oil nourishes your hair, making it denser and shinier. A plus for dry, damaged hair. However, to avoid greasing your scalp, it's best to leave your roots alone, and concentrate on the lengths and ends.

Rich in lauric acid, it has excellent penetrating power in the hair fiber and helps protect your hair on a daily basis. It also promotes rapid growth and repairs dry, tired hair. Its subtle fragrance gives your hair a pleasant scent.

It's particularly recommended for those with dry hair, damaged by too much coloring, bleaching or use of a straightening or curling iron. Coconut oil is the perfect ally for recovering hair worthy of the name! Thanks to its high content of saturated fatty acids, coconut oil has emollient properties: it coats the hair to protect it and prevent dehydration. It also restores cohesion to hair scales, leaving them soft, shiny, supple and full of vitality.

But that's not all: coconut oil has antibacterial, antifungal and cleansing qualities. This makes it one of the most popular oils for the scalp, particularly for combating dandruff problems.

Stop greasy hair with hazelnut oil

The sebum-regulating action of hazelnut oil is ideal to care for oily or rapidly regrowing hair. Just as it does on the skin, hazelnut oil regulates hair sebum. It is particularly beneficial for oily hair, as it limits dehydration without weighing hair down. It also makes hair shine, while protecting and softening it. It is also particularly recommended for color-treated, dry or damaged hair.

Its nourishing properties for the hair are the result of its content of: omega-6 and 9, poly- and mono-unsaturated fatty acids, phytosterols, which have the power to promote the repair of hair fibers, and vitamin E, which is particularly nourishing and antioxidant, protecting cells from premature aging.

For normal hair: hazelnut oil adds shine. It can be used once or twice a week on the ends. For dry and frizzy hair: hazelnut oil is applied as a treatment and left on to deeply nourish lengths and ends, at the rate of one hazelnut oil bath per week. For oily hair or hair with a tendency to re-grease quickly: by rebalancing sebum production, hazelnut oil helps to space out shampooing.

Nourish your hair with sweet almond oil and argan oil

Although suitable for all hair types, sweet almond oil is particularly recommended for dry, split, brittle and frizzy hair. It provides deep nourishment through hair balms and masks, or applied directly to the ends. As an emollient, sweet almond oil regulates sebum production and eliminates impurities, helping to combat dandruff and soothe itchy scalps.

To reduce split ends and prevent hair breakage, Argan oil can be applied to the ends of hair on a daily basis. It not only nourishes hair, but also restores its shine. It will tame even the driest, curliest hair, or hair dried out by the sun, sea or pool, or by frequent use of high-temperature hair dryers or straighteners. It repairs split ends and leaves your hair softer and shinier. The perfect plant oil for dry hair!

Restore suppleness with castor oil

When we think of castor oil, we immediately think of hair. A true ally in our beauty routine, it boasts unsuspected properties that can completely change our habits! Applying it to the scalp has several virtues: it restores shine, suppleness and softness to the hair.

Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which helps retain moisture while promoting scalp health. As a result, this botanical oil enhances hair shine and softness. Rich in fatty acids and essential nutrients, it nourishes and prevents breakage by strengthening the hair fiber. When castor oil deposits a greasy film on hair, it makes it thicker and shinier. The result is healthier hair.

At Yodi, we've brought together some of these oils to offer you a high-quality skincare product: our Muesli & Pure Vanilla oil, a precious, nourishing oil. With its 4 "muesli" oils and concentrated pure vanilla extract from Madagascar, it will awaken your senses!

Its fine, light texture is rapidly absorbed, leaving a non-greasy feel while leaving your skin and hair soft and shiny. Non-comedogenic, it is suitable for all skin types, even oily. This summer, you won't be able to do without it!
