Homemade honey mask to moisturize dry hair

To moisturize your dry hair, it's important to incorporate water-based ingredients into your homemade masks. Honey is a humectant ingredient that attracts water, helping dry hair retain its moisture. It's perfect for damaged or curly hair. This moisturizing treatment will deeply heal your dry hair! What's more, honey adds shine and even lighten your hair naturally, thanks to the hydrogen peroxide it contains!

Honey mask recipes 

You can use this magical ingredient to create a variety of hair care products.

The simplest recipe is simply to dilute honey (preferably organic) with water. Simply place several teaspoons or even a tablespoon of honey (depending on the length of your hair) in a bowl and add water (a tablespoon or more). Stir to obtain a liquid texture. You'll be amazed at how non-sticky the honey feels when applied to your hair. Leave it in for at least 30 minutes, then proceed with your usual washing routine. The result: soft, lightweight hair that's easy to detangle!

There are other honey-based recipes for caring for and repairing dry hair. You can mix honey with various ingredients for your homemade masks, such as :

  • Avocado: this fruit is great for nourishing dry, damaged hair. It contains fatty acids and many vitamins. You can add it to your hair mask by crushing the flesh of the fruit (be careful not to leave any chunks) or by adding a spoonful or two of avocado oil to your homemade honey-based hair treatment. Your dry hair will be both nourished and moisturized.
  • Coconut. In oil, milk or cream, this fruit is perfect for moisturizing and nourishing dry hair. It even soothes scalp irritations. This fat-rich ingredient can be applied as a pre-shampoo treatment. You can add it to honey for in-depth care of dry, damaged hair.
  • Olive oil. This oil is perfect for nourishing your hair, which will be moisturized with the honey. You can even stimulate hair growth with scalp massages. 

Homemade repair mask with egg for dry hair 

Raw eggs contain numerous proteins to nourish very dry hair and repair it in depth. This ingredient is perfect for homemade masks. We all have them in our kitchen!

The egg yolk is rich in lecithin, perfect for repairing dry hair. As for the white, it's rich in protein to nourish, add shine and soften your hair.

Eggs mix very easily with different ingredients. So here's a homemade recipe with honey and olive oil.

  • Break one or two eggs (depending on the length of your hair) into a bowl.
  • Add one or two tablespoons of honey
  • Drizzle with olive oil
  • Mix together before applying to dry, cleansed hair.
  • Leave on for 15-30 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Don't worry, this mask won't smell like eggs.
